The launch checklist: from idea to live marketplace
A step-by-step order of work that gets a travel marketplace live without skipping the parts that matter.
Launching a marketplace is less about a big reveal and more about getting a series of unglamorous things right in the right order. This is the sequence we see work for small, specialist sites.
1. Define the niche and the promise
One sentence describing who it is for, what they can book and why it is better than the alternatives. Everything else — design, copy, supplier pitch — follows from it.
2. Line up founding suppliers
Aim for enough inventory that a visitor can find something bookable for their dates. For most niches that means ten to twenty suppliers at launch, not two hundred.
3. Set your model and policies
Commission or fees, payout timing, cancellation rules and supplier terms. Write them down simply; you will refine them later.
4. Build the site and the listings
Brand, homepage, search and filters, and complete listing pages with real photography and availability. Test every booking path yourself.
5. Prepare your first marketing
A handful of genuinely useful articles, profiles on relevant directories, supplier promotion kits and, ideally, affiliate partners ready to share links on launch day.
6. Launch quietly, then loudly
Open to a small audience first, fix what breaks, gather the first reviews, then announce widely once the experience is solid.
Compress the timeline with a no-code builder
Steps four and five are where most launches stall, because building a booking site from scratch takes months. A no-code marketplace builder turns that into days — branded website, search, listings, payments and supplier tools already working together. Tashi is built specifically for travel marketplaces and offers a free trial, so you can work through this checklist on a real, live platform instead of a development roadmap.
